PLAY
What is PLAY all about? On the surface, PLAY is about helping you to fully prepare for your photoshoot. Giving you the creative push, the open door to your own freedom to build your brand with your unique vision. It’s a process to help you create your PlayBook to come back to and build from, giving you the tools to truly know what makes a great photograph and why that is important. AND its all done in a fun and playful way because building your authentic brand shouldn’t be hard. This process is allowing you to play with the possibility and to tap in to more of your unique essence, the magic that you embody and sharing with you the simplest ways I know to help you access all of what makes you special and how to make that visible… no, PALPABLE. You deserve to be felt with the magnitude and magic that you hold and this toolbox will help you to clearly access those things that you may have even been hiding from yourself. A duplicatable process to give you the ultimate form of freedom, complete knowing of who you are and how to best share that with your own creative magic.
PERSPECTIVE
We start at the beginning, week 1- the first part of the creative exploration is where you dig deep. Unearthing the reason that you want to get in front of the camera. Getting in to your message, divulging what your WHY really is.
What is your mission? Are you afraid to get dirty? Who are you becoming? All things that we will consider in the first phase of PLAY. You have to understand the ground beneath your feet before you can build. If its unstable, the walls will fall. We start with this core question and remember that everything will lead back to this perspective.
WHY? Connection begins here. You can’t begin to build until you have a clear direction of purpose and intent. This is where you will find that.
First step to clarity.
LIGHT
Once you establish the intent of the photographic experience, then we move on to creation. A core element to building any good photograph is light. Week 2, we explore the intimate relationship with the main source that defines what each photo will show. Without it, you have nothing. You see nothing, there is no possibility to have the connection, intention or desire that you want to create.
With this subtle education of light, you’ll learn how to see it better and recognize what is good and what is great! Then bonus… You’ll learn how to move within it and create the dance that engages your audience and magnetizes just the right people… like a moth to a flame. Janet Jackson had it right!
Your relationship with light is the beginning of a lifelong friendship, giving you more freedom to express with the proper intent. Embrace the shadow.
AESTHETIC
In week 3, we look at all the elements that help to create the frame. The things that make the context of the shoot that you are creating relevant to the story that you are telling. this is
YOUR STORY
This is where it all comes together, the blending of what you’ve learned and what you know. Where the practice becomes second nature and you take what you’ve gained. You now have a strong visual representation of what you’ve created and the finite details and knowledge of how to create a new story. This process of deepening your trust in yourself and flexing the muscle of being in front of the camera to making memorable art.
